PCOS and essential oils

Aromatherapy is defined as the use of volatile plant oils, including essential oils, for psychological and physical well-being. It has been used for decades to heal and calm the body.

Essential oils, the pure essence of a plant, have been found to provide both psychological and physical benefits when used correctly and safely.

The two ways to utilize essential oils is through inhalation,  or skin application. Oils that are inhaled into the lungs offer both psychological and physical benefits. Not only does the aroma of the natural essential oil stimulate the brain to trigger a reaction, but when inhaled into the lungs, the natural constituents (naturally occurring chemicals) can supply therapeutic benefit.

There are hundreds of essential oils today, all of which have their own specific “specialty”. Some are best for asthma, while others benefit infertility. Aromatherapy is completely safe and highly recommended by many herbalists and homeopaths because of the extreme benefits it can provide.

I have used essential oils for years. Mostly for depression, anxiety/panic attacks and to help me relax. I have a specific oil I keep on hand at all times. When I feel an anxiety or panic attack coming on, I grab the oil and within minutes my attack is gone – no joke. Its become a life saver (and those of you with anxiety/panic attacks know what I’m talking about!).

It seems weird that an oil can provide so many benefits to your health, but it is true. Aromatherapy has been used for decades all over the world. Thousands of studies have shown aromatherapy to be one of the best “natural remedies” today.
